Every Cloud
Lovely painting called ‘Every Cloud’ by the Scottish painter Stephanie Rew. I love how Rew uses the gold leaf and how it contrasts with the paint she has used for the woman’s face. There is definite touch of the Old Masters and Klimt in her work, the way light and shadow create a sense of drama. The blood-red sliver of paint around her neckline adds to this drama. And what about her mournful, downcast face, what happened?
