Roaring Twenties
Reminded of an amazing performance by La Pustra (formerly known as Mr. Pustra) I once saw at KHL in Amsterdam, I had a desire to dive into the Roaring Twenties; that decade of celebrating the arts, unbridled optimism and playful innuendo. That feeling of delicious of decadence while dancing on the volcano. So, how to get there? Watch Luhrmann’s screen adaptation of The Great Gatsby, Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris or the black and white modern classic The Artist. If you wanted to immerse yourself for a longer period of time, maybe read F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s Tender is the Night, Roald Dahl’s My Uncle Oswald or Satterthwait’s fun murder mystery Masquerade. All these novels are set in that exquisite era of the Lost Generation.
